West Dean Club

West Dean Club is a unique, voluntary run rural club, it was originally the MOD Police club for RNAD Dean Hill and on the depots closure the club is now run by a dynamic and rurally active committee of volunteers, keen not to lose this facility from West Dean.

The focus  is on our community,  with fortnightly Quiz nights, fish & chip and pizza nights, live local music monthly, outreach church services, workshops ranging from willow weaving, Calligraphy, garden flower arrangements and Gin tasting.

We also have a weekly Cropswap for excess garden produce during the summer, talks by local experts including vets, first responders and equine specialists too.

We host fundraising vintage tea parties and we have a chatty cafe weekly on a Monday afternoon 3-5pm and are registered as a ‘Chatty Café centre' aimed at combating rural isolation and loneliness.

Every month we have Nicky our mobile hairdresser who visits on the first Monday and we are a proud hub for families and friends to meet for parties, skittles nights and social meetings.

In 2020 we were nominated in the Countryside Alliance ‘Rural Oscars’ recognising businesses and groups that make a remarkable contribution to rural areas.

We have a fully licenced well stocked bar and have a reputation for keeping good keg beers  (Carlsberg, San Miguel, Thatcher’s and Somersby Ciders too). We are very proud to supply cellar to tap real ales from local breweries’ including Flack Manor, Hopback and Downton.

Membership is £5 per person annually due on the first of April and we welcome visitors and members on any of the 6 days we are open.

Please see our Facebook page - West Dean Club or email us on [email protected] if you require any information about us.  We would love to hear from you!
